Dean, College of Arts and Sciences
The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Cameron University is responsible for providing administrative and academic leadership in a student-centered environment.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Arts and Sciences
- Makes recommendations on budget and curriculum as well as appointment, tenure, and promotion of faculty following standard procedures
- Provides guidance and support for the College's participation in campus-wide assessment activities
- Takes an active role in the recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff
- Works with departments and accrediting bodies to ensure continued adherence to accreditation standards
- Provides leadership to the College in working with external constituencies

The Dean will report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Holds a terminal degree
- Has a record of effective teaching, service, and scholarship consistent with a tenured professor appointment
- Has demonstrated leadership experience
Preferred qualifications include:
- Has a record of administrative achievement at the departmental level or higher
- Has experience in faculty personnel management, budget management, grant writing, and fund raising
- Has experience in working with external constituencies and advisory bodies
- Has experience with any of the accrediting bodies associated with the College of Arts and Sciences and/or the Higher Learning Commission
- Has demonstrated leadership in program development, modification, and assessment practices
Anticipated salary range: commensurate with experience.
