This position is responsible for joining two pieces of metal together using specialized equipment.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
Determine the most appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
Set up components for welding according to specifications.
Set up equipment and apply appropriate welding techniques to produce quality welds.
Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
Inspect and test welds to determine whether the weld is of suitable quality for its intended application.
Ensure all work performed is in a quality minded, tidy & accurate manner.
Adhere to all Company policies.
Follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs, including but not limited to quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Attend work per work schedule.
Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or related welding experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
2-4 years of experience
Basic reading, writing and math skills (required)
Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding
Manufacturing or experience (preferred)
Knowledge of tools, equipment, and application techniques common to this trade
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
Must be able to pass pulmonary Function and Respiratory Function Tests
Must be able to pass a weld test
Must be able to use and read welding measuring devices to include but not limited to squares, levels, and tape measures.
Must be able to work under limited supervision
Must possess good communication skills
